Names for New Mojo Trio (Group 2)!

Janurary 2, 2017

Happy New Year!

Last month, our Mojo Fans were invited to participate in a survey that would help us come up with the names for our three new Runners that we purchased from the 2016 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.  This trio of horses will race for a new Mojo Group (a.k.a. "Mojo Trio, Group 2") later this year.

On December 29, the Jockey Club approved the last name we submitted for this New Mojo Trio.  And, the names that have been registered are...

Special thanks goes out to all Mojo Fans who participated in the naming survey—there were over 60 responses submitted!  Be sure to include these horses in your stable mail, and continue to follow their development/racing careers via our Mojo social channels.

"Inviting our Fans to take part in the naming process is a great way to let them be involved in one of the fun aspects Thoroughbred ownership,” explains Mojo's CEM, Fred Taylor.  “It also helps us introduce new people to the sport, provide information about the different stages of owning a Thoroughbred racehorse, and highlights the product/services that Mojo offers the general public.”

Currently, this trio is turned out during the winter for a little R&R following their inital schooling.  During the fall, they completed the first stage of their training to become racehorses: Learning to take a saddle and rider; following directions; being part of a stable of horses; and the daily training routines.  They also were asked to complete a short/unofficial breeze (at an eighth of a mile) to evaluate their initial stature.

All three received praise from Mojo's Trainer, JR Caldwell.  "I'm extremely pleased with their progress," JR reported.  "They were good students, fast learners, and all three settled in nicely as if they've been around the barn for years.  I'm looking forward to getting them started in my spring training program."

Stay tuned for upcoming info about Brickyard Baby, Thermistor, and Tags to Riches, as well as our other Mojo Runners!
